Sometimes the day surprises you. I’m learning to go with the flow and sometimes, when you’re really lucky, you can find the joy wherever you turn. Maybe you’ll even find butterflies in your own backyard. We were so lucky to find the #sandhillcranes, now I can paint some. The pressure is on now. Gotta paint something really cool now that I spent all my money at @jerrysartarama ! I had to try out @goldenpaints newer line called So Flat. They are highly pigmented and super flat. I kept telling myself I didn’t need a new line of paints to try. Darn you Golden!!!!

Today I celebrate 6 years of being smoke free! It is one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. I am so glad my life is free from it. I smell good and I don’t have to look for smoking lounges in airports anymore! Here’s to the rest of my life free! #smokefreelife #nicotinefree #freedom

Loosing Dolly will be a tough one. I always kinda thought of her and my Mom as alike. Mom wouldn’t leave the house without her hair or makeup done either. Blueberries ripening in the sun always feels like Summertime to me. This yummy painting is titled , “The Taste of Summer”. I allowed most of the abstract background to show through in this piece. The delicate leaves just needed a touch of detail. They flow so beautifully over the colors. The unexpected colors were the perfect backdrop for the berries that were just bursting with the sweetness of the season. I just picked the painting from @imaginefineartprinting so prints will be available soon. So who wants a print before they’re all gone? @whitfieldink I’ll have one ready for you ASAP!!!

Where does painting inspiration come from? For me it comes from life experiences. From the tiny snippets of life happening all around us. This painting titled, Flo-tea Goa-Tea came from spending time with my kids, see what I did there! lol Your children are never too old for the petting zoo! We visited @countrykingdompettingfarm and the @jacksonvillezoo two really awesome places here in Florida. You should get over there and see all the wonderful animals they have. I’m so glad I am inspired by the world around me. I hope you are too.

This painting was inspired by walks with my Good Boy Jesse. He is my wonderful studio mate. We always seem to catch the sunrise. I added some floral elements to the scene because he liked to stop and do all his sniffies. He turned 13 this year and his bones are getting stiff and sore. I am relishing every walk we have together. #stopandsmelltheroses #adogslife #myoldfriend #makingmemoriestogether
